4.11.2026-Norris Lake (Campbell Co.)

Terry and Daugherty Dominate Norris

April 11, 2026– LaFollette, TN: The Morristown Marine Team Trail returned to Lonas Young Park on Norris Lake for stop 3 of the 2026 season. 217 teams registered for the tournament and 198 boats were in the water for blast-off looking to claim a share of the $52,400.00 pay out across 36 places, and contingencies. Blast off was met with a slight April chill in the morning air and a few scattered clouds that quickly gave way to a bright sunny sky with a few scattered clouds and a light wind. Temps climbed quickly from the upper 40s to the mid 70s and the warming water had the fish thinking about spawning.

Most anglers found fish, but catching quality bass was more difficult. 104 teams weighed bags between 10 and 17 lbs.  Average weight per fish for this tournament was 2.19 lbs. Average bag weight was 10.68 lbs. Of the 217 registered teams, 152 teams weighed at least 1 fish for a total of 740 fish weighed with 739 of them being released alive and well for someone else to catch on Norris Lake. A total of 140 teams weighed a 5 fish limit, with a grand total of 1,622.94 lbs of fish brought to the scales. Boat 1 started blast-off at 6:58 am and concluded with boat 250 being called at 7:55, a total of 57 minutes and an average of 3.47 boats per minute. The scales officially opened at 2:55pm and officially closed at 4:35pm, taking an hour and 40 minutes, averaging 1.52 bags per minute weighed. We appreciate all you guys for making that run so smoothly. By far the best group of fishermen in the sport!
