Humann and Blevins Smash SoHo
May 9, 2026-Bristol, TN: The Morristown Marine Team Trail returned to Sullivan County/Bristol and Observation Knob Park for the 5th and final stop of the 2026 regular season. 202 teams were looking to compete for a share of the $47,750.00 payout across 34 places and all contingencies. Some unseasonably cool weather met anglers Saturday morning with some lingering cloud cover and temps around 45 degrees. The clouds didn’t hang around long and the sun warmed the morning quickly. A steady 10-15 mph wind picked up shortly after daylight and stayed consistent throughout the day. True to form for South Holston, the fishing was hit or miss for anglers, as 96 teams weighed at least one fish, but 83 of those bags were 5 fish limits. 453 fish hit the scales Saturday afternoon, with 452 of them being released alive to fight another day. The average weight per fish for South Holston was 2.65 lbs. The average bag weight was 12.51 lbs. A grand total of 1,200.70 lbs of fish came across the stage. Boat 1 started blast off at 6:25 am and boat 250 was called at 7:10 am, averaging 3.8 boats per minute. The scales officially opened at 2:50 pm and officially closed at 4:10 pm, averaging 1.2 bags per minute weighed. We appreciate all you guys for making that run so smoothly. By far the best group of fishermen in the sport!
The team of Mason (Matthew) Humann and Bryson Blevins smashed ‘em with a total bag weighing 23.11 lbs, anchored by a GIANT post-spawn smallmouth weighing 5.00 lbs even. They said most of their limit came from a couple of banks where they found a shad spawn early. Mason and Bryson spent the day trying to cull up using forward facing sonar and a variety of tactics, both up and down the lake. See the post-tournament interview Part 1; Part 2 Mason and Bryson took home a check for $10,000.00 for 1st place overall, $1,000.00 for Citizen’s Bank Big Smallmouth, and $250 for 1st Humminbird/MinnKota.
