Father-Son Duo Find “Golden Easter Egg” for Douglas Payday

April 8, 2023-Dandridge, TN: The Morristown Marine Team Trail made stop #3 of the 2023 Season in Dandridge, TN on beautiful Douglas Lake Saturday morning. 245 teams registered for the tournament, and all but a handful of those teams braved the wind and rain to compete for their share of the $49,115.00 payout across 41 places. The late week cold snap hurt the bite and changed the fishing drastically from midweek, with wind and cold rain moving in on Thursday night and while the day was a steady dose of rain, the 10-15 mph wind kept the temperature feeling chilly. Despite the weather, there were still a lot of fish caught and weighed with 177 of those teams weighing at least one fish for a grand total of 1,963.16 lbs of Douglas Lake bass weighed. 170 teams had a five fish limit with a total of 877 fish weighed and 877 fish released alive to be caught again another day.  Blast off took roughly an hour, averaging 3.7 boats per minute……Let me just say thank you to everyone for being patient and understanding during blast off. The wind made it hard for everyone, blast off boat included……. and weigh-in took 2 hour and 20 minutes, averaging 1.26 bags per minute. We certainly appreciate everyone fishing with us and helping us to create such a great trail!

The father-son duo of Brian Harvey and Bryson Harvey took home the win with a whopping bag of 20.43 lbs. Bryson was an alternate with his Dad because Brian’s normal partner was fishing a high school event with his daughter today. In case you were wondering, they got 6th place overall in the high school tournament, so it was a great day all around for these guys. For their efforts, Brain and Bryson took home a check for $10,000.00. Congrats, guys!!

Coming in 2nd place was the team of Bryant Ailor and Mark Ailor. Mark and Bryant had a nice mixed bag of fish that tipped the scales at 16.52 lbs. They will get a check for 2nd place overall as well as Highest Finishing Humminbird/Minnkota for a total payday of $3,750.00

A very, very close 3rd place belongs to Joey Solomon and Daniel Taylor. Joey and Daniel carried the lead for most of the tournament with a 16.48 lb bag. They will split a check for $3,000.00. Great work, men!

4th place went to Gary Heath and James Davis with a 16.30 lb bag. Gary and James will snag a check for $2,000.00 for braving the wind and rain!

Rounding out the top 5 was the team of Blake Brashers and Dylan Caudill with a 16.28 lb bag. Blake and Dylan also had the Citizens Bank Largemouth award with a 5.24 lb greenie. Blake and Dylan will cash checks for $2,725.00. Way to go guys!
