MORRISTOWN MARINE TEAM TRAIL OFFICAL RULES AND REGULATIONS 1. PARTICIPANTS AND ELIGIBILITY: Open to all individuals, male and female. Those under 18 may participate with written permission of a parent or legal guardian. Morristown Marine Team Trail tournaments are open to all people regardless of race, sex, religion, or national origin. Morristown Marine Team Trail reserves the right to reject any application for membership and tournament entry fees that is not in the best interest of the trail. MEMBERSHIP FEE IS $25.00 PER PERSON INCLUDING ALTERNATES. All memberships expire June 30th annually. 2. ENTRY FEES: Entry fee for all regular season tournaments including the Classic shall be $100.00 per team with an optional $10.00 Big Fish Pot paid back at 100%, 85% at the ramp and 15% going to the classic. All entries paid by credit card require a $3.00 service charge per tournament. A $25.00 service charge will be assessed for any returned checks and the team will not be allowed to fish until the check is made good. Winners are responsible for any and all taxes on any money and prizes received. 3. PAYOUTS: All Morristown Marine Team Trail tournaments will have a payout based on (1) place for every (7) boats. There will only be (1) Big Fish pot payout per tournament. Prize money will be paid out immediately following a tournament providing there are no protest and/or polygraph required. Prize money may be held up to (2) weeks to allow time for a polygraph exam at a suitable time for all parties. 4. CLASSIC QUALIFICATION: You must fish in at least (5) regular season tournaments to qualify for the Morristown Marine Team Trail classic. Classic entry fee will be $100.00 with an optional $10.00 Big Fish Pot. Additional prizes may be added. Payout will be (1) place for every (7) boats. The winning team of the (1) day Classic will receive a fully rigged 2008 Stratos 176XT Bass Boat with a 50HP Evinrude E-TEC engine. Winners are responsible for any and all taxes on any money and prizes received. 5. LAUNCH SEQUENCE / OFF LIMIT PERIODS: Starting position will be determined by draw. There is no official off limit period or practice days for the regular season tournaments. All tournaments will be starting at safe light until 3:00 PM. 6. SAFETY: Safe boating conduct must be observed at all times. Any time the boat is on plane, each contestant is required to wear a chest type life preserver and a kill switch must be attached to the driver. Motors that exceed horsepower ratings are not condoned by Morristown Marine Team Trail or its sponsors. All boats must be 16' minimum in length and have a rear deck. Each boat must have all required US Coast Guard safety equipment. Boats must have working aerated live wells to maintain a live limit catch by both contestants. 7. SPORTSMANSHIP: All contestants are expected to follow high standards of sportsmanship, courtesy, safety, and conservation. Alcohol and drugs shall be called for automatic disqualification. No boat may fish within 50 yards of another competitor who was first anchored or with the trolling motor down without first obtaining permission from that competitor. Fighting will not be tolerated and may result in disqualification. 8. TACKLE AND EQUIPMENT: Only artificial lures with the exception of pork trailers may be used. All bass must be caught in a sporting manner, NO SNAGGING. Only (1) rod may be used at any time. NO TROLLING IS ALLOWED. 9. STATE LAW AND REGULATIONS: All participants must abide by all state laws and wildlife regulations. 10. LATE PENALTY: Teams that have not checked in on time will be penalized (1) lb per minute late. After 15 minutes the team will be disqualified. 11. SCORING: A tournament limit shall consist of (5) bass. Only largemouth, small mouth and Kentucky bass may be weighed in. Official measuring board will be a Golden Rule. The official length will comply with State or Local regulations. Short fish penalty will be (1) lb and be penalized the loss of (1) fish. Fish that appear to be mangled, mashed, mauled, or altered will be weighed only at the discretion of the tournament officials. Fish will be measured with the mouth closed. Dead fish penalty is (4 oz) per dead fish. Limit (2) dead fish per team. All culling must be done on the lake and not in the check in or weigh in area. No more than (5) fish in the live well at any time. Cull as you go. 12. EMERGENCIES: Team members shall not leave the boat except in emergencies, i.e., sickness or severe weather. A committee member of the Morristown Marine Team Trail must be notified if a participant must leave the boat for any other reason during tournament hours. NO EXCEPTIONS. In the event of a mechanical breakdown of a boat or motor, (1) partner may ride back to the weigh-in location with another competitor to weigh that team’s fish while the other partner remains with the disabled boat. 13. SUBSTITUTES: A team shall consist of (1) or (2) anglers. You may fish each tournament alone, however, the entry fee will remain the same. All Classic participants must fish (5) regular season tournaments to qualify for the Classic. After the first (2) tournaments you may not add a permanent partner for the Classic. NO ALTERNATES ALLOWED FOR THE CLASSIC. You may substitute your regular partner (2) times during the regular season and retain points. Permanent partner changes can only be made due to hardship. Partner disagreement does not constitute a hardship. All changes must be approved by the tournament director and the tournament committee. 14. PROTEST/POLYGRAPHS: Any protest must be submitted in writing to the tournament director within (15) minutes of scale closing. The Morristown Marine Team Trail committee has the right to ask any member to submit to a polygraph exam at any time. If any member refuses a polygraph exam it will result in immediate disqualification and all entry fees and prizes will be forfeited. All members agree to abide by the results of the polygraph exam. If polygraph is given at an off site the tournament director has the right to withhold all prizes pending the outcome of the polygraph exam. 15. POINT FORMAT: All tournaments are scored in pounds and hundreds of pounds, with points awarded for the place of finish. 1st place in each regular season tournament will receive (300) points, 2nd place (299) 3rd (298) and so forth. Teams not weighing fish will automatically receive (50) points for last place. Points are accumulated during the regular season tournaments. The team having the most points during the regular season tournaments will be the points champion and will receive free entries for the following regular season. 16. LIABILITY: Liability insurance is required in a minimum of $100,000.00 per accident of all contestants using their boats while fishing the Morristown Marine Team Trail and Classic. By signing an official entry form, you agree to assume all risks associated with the tournament and release Morristown Marine Team Trail, its sponsors, director, and employees from any and all damages, claims and expenses relating to any injury of any person including yourself and to damages to any property which you may cause by reason of participating in a Morristown Marine Team Trail event. 17. RULES INTERPUTATION: Interputation of these rules will be left up the tournament director or tournament committee. Infraction of any rule may result in disqualification of catch and forfeiture of entry fee and prizes. I further agree that I will never sue any of the above for damages on account of any injury I suffer or cause, whether known now or which may develop in the future, in connection with the Morristown Marine Team Trail tournament. In the event any of the above are sued because of my actions, I expressly agree to indemnify and hold each harmless from any liability whatsoever, including court cost and attorney fees arising with respect to such actions. I further understand and agree that the tournament committee reserves the right to refund this entry fee if it shall choose, for any reason except my application as a qualified entrant. I further agree to submit to a polygraph examination and abide by the rules committee of the polygraph test.
