3.6.2021-Watts Bar Lake

                   Anderson & Roberts’ Big Fish Brings A Win

               March 6, 2021- Rockwood, TN: The first stop of the 2021 Morristown Marine Team Trail blasted off in Roane County, TN at beautiful Watts Bar Lake in Rockwood with a great field of 235 boats.  Anglers were greeted with a chilly 35 degree blast off on clear dawn. The fishing was hit or miss for most, with several 20+ lb. bags weighed and many 2 and 3 fish limits brought to the scales.  In all, 379 bass hit the scales for a total weight of 1,074.75 lbs. Of the 235-boat field, 114 weighed at least one fish. 37 teams weighed a 5 fish limit. Total payout for the Watts Bar tournament was $47,555.00 across 39 places and all contingency money. 

Travis Anderson of Knoxville, TN and Seth Roberts of Jacksboro, TN carried the day with a 22.24 lb. total weight, anchored by a behemoth 9.74 lb. Largemouth. Travis and Seth collected checks for 1st place ($10,000.00), Highest Finishing Humminbird/MinnKota Team($250) and Citizens Bank Big Largemouth ($1,135.00) for a total payday of $11,385.00. Congrats on a great day, guys! 

Following up in 2nd place was last year’s Watts Bar Tournament winners, Cody Seeber of Powell, TN and Jeff Moore from Harriman, TN with 20.70 lbs. Cody and Jeff also cashed checks for Highest Finishing Skeeter($3,000), Morristown Marine Bucks ($1,000.00), and 2nd Highest Finishing Humminbird/MinnKota($150) for a total of $8,150.00. Way to go, Cody and Jeff! 

3rd place went to Dewayne Drummonds of Gray, KY and Michael House of London, KY with a 5 fish total of 20.49 lbs. Dewayne and Michael’s bag was anchored by a giant 6.88 green fish that looked like a 10 lb’er AND a 4.02 lb brown fish. Congrats to Dewayne and Michael on a great day! They were able to take home $3,000.00 for their 3rd place finish. 

4th place belonged to Kevin Snyder of Athens, TN and Dusty Fugate of Ten Mile, TN with a total weight of 20.44 lbs on a 5 fish limit. Good job, guys! Kevin and Dusty cashed a check for $1,800.00 for their day of fishing. 

Rounding out the top 5 was the team of Curtis Gwin of Jacksboro, TN and BJ Henderson of Clinton, TN with a 5 fish weight of 20.09 lbs. Curtis and BJ also collected checks for 2nd Highest Finishing Skeeter($1,500) anHighest Finishing Gray Fox Insurance Team($250.00) for a total payday of $2,950.00. Congrats, Curtis and BJ!! 

The Citizens Bank Big Largemouth went to Travis Anderson and Seth Roberts with a giant 9.74 lb green fish. Nice fish, guys! 

The Citizens Bank Big Smallmouth went to Corey Brooks and Gilbert Graham, both of Louisville, TN with a stud 4.36 lb smallmouth. Congrats! 

The two teams winning the Gray Insurance Group Bonus were  Curtis Gwin/BJ Henderson(20.09 lbs) and Bo Goodin/Todd Mallicoat (14.32 lbs). These teams received an extra $250 each, just for choosing Gray Insurance Agency out of LaFollette, TN. Give Randy Heatherly a call and get in on the payout! 

Morristown Marine Bucks paid out to Cody Seeber/Jeff Moore (20.70 lbsfor Highest Finishing New Boat from Morristown Marine to the tune of $1,000.00 and to John Smith/Tyler Faulkner (18.35 lbs) for $750.00 on 2nd Highest Finishing New Boat from Morristown Marine. Highest finishing Preowned Boat from Morristown Marine went to Brandon Hartgrove/Steve Robinson ($500.00). We appreciate each of you choosing to purchase your boat at Morristown Marine. Thank You!!
